Mohair Skins are Sexy — Who Knew?

Post by WildSnow.com blogger | September 15, 2010

In honor of all you low angle glide-happy skinners out there, we offer this. It is oddly compelling.

Short sample with better audio for the lyrics. Mohair Sam, he be the man!

I’ll be singing this song to myself next time I’m skinning. It is stuck in my head!

Lyrics below, but they left out the part about the Rolling Stones and MORE that April Stevens sings. Laughing out loud. It’s unknown if Charlie Rich was into backcountry skiing.

Well – who is the hippie that’s happenin’ all over our town?
Tearin’ up chicks with the message that he lays down
Who is the coolest guy, what is, what am?
That’s fast-talkin’ – slow walkin’ – good-lookin’ Mohair Sam.

Chicks are makin; reservations for his lovin’ so fine (so fine)
Screamin’ and shoutin’ he’s got ’em all waitin’ in line
Who is the coolest guy, what is, what am?
That’s fast-talkin’ – slow walkin’ – good-lookin’ Mohair Sam.

Who is the hippie that’s happenin’ all over our town?
Tearin’ up chicks with the message that he lays down
Who is the coolest guy, what is, what am?
That’s fast-talkin’ – slow walkin’ – good-lookin’ Mohair Sam.

I think Mohair Sam is pretty cool! And, in my experience; mohair works pretty well for most backcountry touring.
