Hello everyone,

Much of the writing in this section is of the raw and confrontational style used for opinion columns and letters-to-editor.

I know many of the folks in our local environmental groups, and they're all well-meaning individuals. Indeed, I agree with them on many points. In particular, I agree we must be good stewards of our planet. It's on the details and underlying philosophy where my problems arise.

Thus, I have no intention of attacking individuals, but rather argue positions and philosophy. I disagree with the common environmentalist anti-human stance. As Martin W. Lewis wrote about in his classic book, "Green Delusions", I believe human needs, and human management, must be part of the solution to environmental problems. I believe that by allowing humans plenty of access to creation, combined with education, they'll appreciate it and preserve it. Idealistic? Yes. But what are the alternatives?
L.D.
