Just trying to keep it real and give an authentic opinion about the event, rather than rah rah fluff. That's what blogging is all about. I would have felt the same way no matter what President or other leader the joke was about -- any political party. I agree that in many situations jokes about presidents are fine, I laugh along with everyone else no matter which side of the spectrum. Old tradition in our country, actually. And as they say, dissent is healthy. It was just that in this situation is was really inappropriate in my opinion. A positive occasion in a crowd with definitely mixed political leanings. No need for negative sarcastic jokes. Oh, I just found the joke to be so inappropriate and such a non-sequitur I had to mention it. I can understand having respect for the office of the president, but lots of folks have gotten some laughs making fun of presidents-it's a common theme for comedians, late-night talk show hosts, etc. In the case of our current president, in my opinion he has lost the right to receive any respect. Yes, I do vote and I voted against him both times! Do I like the alternatives? Not necessarily, but I do know the difference between bad and worst choice!
