News media is reporting that a skier died today in an avalanche on Quandary Peak, a fourteener near Breckenridge, Colorado. It sounds like two men headed up to climb the peak during high hazard, with no avalanche rescue gear and little to no knowledge of avalanche safety. Tragic. More information as it comes in. It’ll be interesting to see if mainstream media calls these guys “experienced” or “expert” as they seem to always do…
