Hey guys, yeah, I used my 170 Kongur's with Dynafit TLT and Garmont Mega Rides. But Louie left his "heavy" setup behind and took his 160 cm Dynafit D-812 skis with TLT bindings and Scarpa F1 boots. His setup was PERFECT for this type of trip. For both of us, having nice short skis was a joy. It makes the transitions so quick to just lash the skis diagonal on the pack. Having super comfy boots is key if there is much walking or boot climbing on snow, of which we had both. We never felt the need for beefy gear, as you can't ski that agro with an overnight weight pack anyhow.

My impression of the Kongur was that the sweet spot on this shorter length is definitely a bit less forgiving when the snow is less than ideal, but I never fell and always enjoyed the turns, so what's not to love?

I bet Lou was on his Atomic Kongur with Dynafit Comforts and Louie was on his new Dynafit FT10s with Comforts as well. Lou- I mis-spelled aficionado-just poor writing on MY part!! But Yes, please Lou, tell us what boards and binders you and Louie were using.

Hi Jason, good ideas! I have to humbly say that indeed, the Ti stuff is the greatest but I like the alu pots because I can beat them up without guilt, and when one floats away in the creek I don't cry but do feel guilt . Cheapo alu pots are very similar in weight. But indeed, the Ti spork is ultimate and I should have one, mea culpa!

As for the SnowClaw "gasp," that was just poor writing on my part. See edited post .
