The problem is that rando racing has a limit on how light and how short a ski can be. I would hope they'd keep adjusting that to allow for progression in equipment development. I'd guess we'll be seeing more carbon fiber used. I don't think there will be a weight rule in the 24 Hours event, but I can guess they might have a length rule by next year, otherwise the participant starts using gear that's just too weird. One participant in this past Sunlight showed up with kids skis mounted with running shoes. His setup didn't work that well, but at least he honored the concept of skiing the race, instead of running (he's one of the best mountain runners in Colorado).

Nice coverage! I can't begin to imagine nailing that kind of vert. BTW, noticed the Goode's in the picture. I was wondering when we were going to see these carbon fiber skis in rando racing. Is there anything lighter out there? I had a pair of C95's, but broke one doing normal b/c skiing. Otherwise, I loved the light weight. I have a new pair coming to me, so we'll see if these hold up.
