solid boot eh? yep i've joined the ranks of touring boot wearers. but might still have to do another trip to rogers pass with Andre and Christian complete with baggy flourscent boots, trekkers, and studded belts - just for the onlookers' stares.

If I were forced to pick one ski, it would be the Seven Summit. In my Manaslu Guest Blog there was discussion of the Seven Summit-

I find that I do not like my FR10- 88 waist as well in powder as Manaslu, and I do not like the 88 waist for hard snow or corn compared to the Seven Summit 80 waist. Hpwever, it does appear that I continue to buck the trend toward wider waist skis. I also prefer smaller boots for touring...

Jonathan,
The Mustagh Ata is a light ski already. If Dynafit uses similar materials to the Manaslu, it ought to be the lighter of the two--and that's significant. Mustagh Atas handle well even in spite of their airy weight.

I've skied the Mustagh Ata and liked it a lot. Haven't skied the Se7en Summits, though I think Lou could fill you in. I ski the K2 Mount Baker Superlights (and regular version). They're fantastic for backcountry. The inserts are tempting.
