Hi Lou-

I am running a short piece in The Avalanche Review, Feb 09 issue, about Knox Williams being inducted into the Co Ski Hall of Fame. Halsted sent me a number of photos from the ceremony, but the best one he sent is from your website/ you took it. I was wondering if you could let me use/ send me a hi-res version of this photo to use with that article please?

Hmm it won't paste- not surprising. It is the photo with Halsted, Dale, Scott, and Knox.

thanks

Tim, Knox's main contribution was the founding of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. Which in turn has provided avalanche forecasts, education resources and accident investigation that have helped everyone from the Highway Department to backcountry skiers.

Hello Lou

I was wondering who Knox William is?
Not to diminish any/all of his great accomplishments listed here but I do not remember him at all during any of my fathers avalanche training sessions my father ran during those times you mention. I was there for many years helping/assisting my father with the program Ronald Halley, jr. ran for all patrolmen during those days.

Perhaps I have forgot his face and name as one that was there with my father.

Have a great day!

Congratulations to Knox Williams. I will add my thanks for Knox's contributions and work that have been significant and primary to my own avalanche education and to many others' avalanche education.

Yes, congratulations to Knox and Scott and all the "Avy Boyz". Knox and Scott built the CAIC into a very useful tool for decision making in the backcountry. Our trips into the snowy backcountry would be much less safe without their weather and avalanche forcasts every morning.
