A big CONGRATULATIONS to Frank Konsella of Crested Butte as the fourth person to make summit ski descents of all 54 Colorado 14,000 foot peaks! Frank got difficult Capitol Peak a few weeks ago, then capped his quest with easy but fun Mount Harvard. He did his last peak with frequent adventure partner Brittany Walker (who’s close to skiing all 54 herself!).

Above, Frank on Mount Harvard. He writes: “now I’ve got to help Brittany reach her goal, too”.

And about that tailgate backcountry skiing. That’s me yesterday, getting the last lower altitude goods off the Marble road. With all the busy times associated with our son’s high school graduation, it’s been nice to keep getting quick corn snow hits in the “Marble Zone.” But the low altitude snow snow is getting dirty and slow, time to keep the missions going above timberline. We’ll give that a shot today.

Nice work Frankie. How many smoked oysters did you eat at the top?
