Phil, I think the problem is with sites that need bandwidth. Bluehost sells nice fat bandwidth, but they don't have any guarantee about speed or reliability. It appears that what happens is they put me on a shared server, with the assumption that WildSnow is just another average bandwidth website. Then we get hit by several thousand people on Monday morning, and it Bluehost chokes. More, myself and helpers are on nearly every waking hour so we see the service outages. Your sites might look great, but do your monitor their availability 24/7? You might be surprised at how many outages there are. More, by Bluehost's own admission they scheduled server maintenance for Monday morning, our most important time to be available. That is totally unacceptable. We're probably switching to Media Temple, don't know for sure yet.

Like you, I've also got guite a few websites I maintain that are hosted by Bluehost, and rarely notice any problems with them. They're not demanding sites and we don't monitor for reliability.

Gurus tell me that WildSnow has simply outgrown low-end hosting. The frustrating thing is one would think Bluehost would offer me some kind of help with this. But I just don't see any options with them. But you never know, I continue to research the issue.

Crazy. I have a handful of sites hosted with Bluehost and have had nothing but good experiences for the past 3+ years. Their tech support blows any of the other hosting companies away. Sorry to hear about your bad experience!

When it comes to Bluehost, you are not alone. Bluehost is one of the worst web hosting companies on the internet.

Read more about my nightmare with <a href="http://inetintegrity.com/weblog/?p=1" rel="nofollow">Bluehost.</a>

The bottom line Bluehost sucks!
